addendum: sixteenth piece in personal collection

Swoon- Swimming Cities of Switchback Sea

  1. Again, following my interest in boats, amateur sailing and the sea, Swoon's project, 'Swimming Cities...', with Deitch Projects NYC was a caravan of homemade DIY rafts in which the artist and groups of people floated on 7 of these sculptures down the Hudson River, docking outside of the gallery. The seven boats, built by Swoon and her friends from scrap wood and other discarded materials, begin their sail down the Hudson River on August 15th in Troy, New York, stopping along the way for musical and theatrical performances.

These floats were filled with images and wheat-pastes that the artist found fame in creating.
